HEC only top business school outside US identified for teaching of marketing

March 27 2009

HEC is the only top business school outside the USA to be identified for the
teaching of marketing in the latest survey by The Princeton Review involving
over 19,000 business school students. The school was one of only two non-US
schools to feature in the complete ranking, which also covered subjects such
as general and global management, finance and accounting, and operations.

The survey, which involves 296 schools around the world asked students how
well they felt their school equipped them to succeed in each of the
specified areas on a five point scale. In the marketing category HEC was
ranked alongside such major US players as Harvard, Fuqua, Kellogg and
Berkeley Haas.

“The US has so many great business schools that it’s really gratifying to
get this sort of recognition from students,” says Valerie Gauthier,
associate dean, HEC Paris. “What we aim to do at HEC is to combine the
world-class research of professors like Kapferer, Dalsace, Ulaga, Czellar
and Bastien with the experiences of business leaders who come into the
classroom to confront students with the reality of what works and what
doesn’t on the ‘front line’. We also get them involved in one of over fifty
major marketing projects we run here every year, some of which lead on to
the creation of new businesses. It’s this intensity of experience that so
well prepares our MBA students for the challenges and opportunities they’ll
face after graduation.”
