HEC MBA participants have their own Student Government, called the MBA Council. Created to represent the interests of all MBA participants, the Council takes advantage of the many activities available on the HEC campus. Using its position as a student advocate and staff liaison, the Council can also create new opportunities that reflect participants' constantly expanding interests. The MBA Council has an office staffed by eight elected participants including a President, Treasurer, Executive Officer, Club Coordinator, and Career Coordinator.
| "The MBA Council provides the basic governance structure for HEC's MBA student community. At the moment, the MBA Council is the only legally-registered association run by MBA students and it acts as the underlying legal and financial entity behind all of the HEC MBA student initiatives on campus. The MBA Council will also frequently act as the student stakeholder when issues arise that require student representation and will often officiate elections, mediate disputes, or otherwise act it its capacity as a student government to ensure the program functions in a smooth, student-friendly manner. The MBA Council's leadership team is democratically elected from the student community and, as such, its mission is intended to shift from intake to intake as it attempts to refocus itself and best-serve the needs of the student community. At present, the MBA Council is currently supporting a number of programs for the HEC MBA community, including: student professional clubs, student social and cultural clubs, HEC campus relations, HEC alumni relations, corporate relations, corporate sponsorships, new student integration, the buddy program, the HEC MBA Ambassadors program, HEC's iTunes U / podcasting initiatives, student-run social media, the BAM! Music Club, the MBA Store, the MBA program's performance dashboard, and assorted other social, professional, and academic projects, not to mention our very own, student-run bar here in Expansiel, the Piano Bar! While this charter may sound broad, the council depends heavily on broad student involvement and frequently acts as a communication channel and coordinator for many of these activities, relying heavily on the contributions of HEC's strong, diverse MBA student body to achieve the broader goals of our community."
