Visions of Leadership Seminar

Pavel Fischer, Czech Ambassador to France and head of former President Vaclav Havel's politics department, delivered a Visions of Leadership seminar for HEC MBA participants.

Fischer's discussion reflected the driving themes of the Visions of Leadership Initiative, which seeks to expose HEC MBA participants to the very best in corporate, political, and cultural leadership. Launched by Associate Dean Valérie Gauthier in 2003, Visions of Leadership has become a core feature of the HEC MBA program, offering participants the opportunity to consolidate and enhance their leadership training by discussing contemporary leadership approaches with those responsible for their development and implementation.

To this end, Visions of Leadership events have recently brought such outstanding and diverse speakers as Masaaki Imai, Founder of the Kaizen Institute and author of the ground-breaking book, "Kaizen: The Key to Japan's Competitive Success;”  Peter Kaboji, CEO, Venture Capitalist, and President of the European Entrepreneurship Foundation; Armelle Carminati-Rabasse, Managing Partner for Accenture's European Retail practice; and Ramalinga Raju, Founder and Chairman of Satyam Computer Services Ltd., to the HEC campus.

Leadership events take place over the course of the academic year, and attendance at these events represents one of the core requirements of the MBA program. The Visions of Leadership cycle concludes with an annual awards ceremony, where outstanding participants are awarded for their academic achievement and the leadership skills they have demonstrated through their extracurricular activities.
