Visions of Leadership Week

Visions of Leadership Week will bring together 200 MBA participants from 55 countries for a series of interactive conferences and roundtables with such high-profile guest speakers as Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, Former President of the French Republic; Jean-Paul Agon, CEO of L'Oréal; Jean-Réné Fourtou, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vivendi Universal; Henri de Castries, AXA Group Management Board and Chief Executive Officer; and General Jean-Louis Georgelin, Chief of the Defence Staff of the French Army.

Further events include a no-holds-barred dialogue between the British philosopher, Theodor Zeldin, and Daniel Bernard, Chairman of the HEC Foundation, CEO of Provestis and former CEO of Carrefour, decision-making workshops led by consultants and project managers from McKinsey & Company, and a roundtable organized in partnership with the European Professional Women's Network (EPWN), dedicated to the theme of Women in Leadership.

During those 5 days, the MBA participants will have the opportunity to explore and assert their personal visions of leadership with a series of interactive Q&A style conferences and workshops based on live case studies that explore the concept of leadership.

Leadership is not a state of being or an inherent skill. It is an act, a process of learning and development that requires willpower, time and hard work. The step-by step process of leadership development is fully integrated into the HEC MBA Program, through dedicated courses offerings and group work, professional clubs that offer real opportunities to lead, and a VoL seminar cycle that exposes participants to contemporary leaders.

At the HEC MBA, we believe that a leader needs relational know-how or “savoir-relier”™. Leaders must cultivate a capacity to forge connections between individuals and cultures; establish links between knowledge, competencies and points of view; and manage the complexity of relationships. HEC Paris's multicultural learning environment provides the ideal setting for this process of development.
