Jennifer Miller (MBA 2006) - USA

This is a French School with an Amazing International Perspective!

Miller_01After having worked for more than seven years in international development in Africa, I decided that it was time to increase my technical and managerial skills. Through my work experience with NGOs in the international development arena, I had two “revelations.” First, those of us working in this sector are adept at designing technically sound programs for clients, but we tend to have less experience in management. Second, I believe that the best chance that developing countries have of improving quality of life is through private sector development and access to financing and credit mechanisms. Therefore, the choice of an MBA program seemed obvious for me to learn about business and international management.

But why HEC as opposed to another business school?  I wanted to strengthen my skills in French, which I had studied for several years, but had not perfected. I also wanted to study in a very international environment, and the HEC MBA program is composed of 75% international students from all over the world.  Indeed, HEC's MBA program has become very well known internationally, which is clear from its steady climb in the rankings. I expect that the strength and the reputation of the HEC brand will continue to grow, both in France and internationally.

HEC is a French school with an amazingly international perspective. I have the distinct feeling that I am a member of the HEC community, no matter my origin.
